Officer site induction record. A printable site induction record for an officer joining a post — the assignment instructions, the site, the risks and the things that are only learned by being shown.
This is the paper version. SecureOptix does the same job on a phone, with the record filed against the assignment and the officer automatically.

What is on the sheet
- Officer, site, post, date and who gave the induction
- Assignment instructions issued, read and signed for, by version
- A walk of the site: boundaries, access points, patrol route, keys and alarms
- Site-specific risks, including anything the client has told you about
- Escalation contacts confirmed as current, and how to raise an emergency
- Welfare, lone working arrangements and a signature from both sides
Why this record matters
A security officer dropped onto an unfamiliar post with a folder is the most common cause of a bad first shift, and almost every one of those is a preventable induction failure. The things that go wrong are specific: the alarm code nobody mentioned, the gate that has to be locked in a particular order, the neighbour who comes in through the side door.
Issuing the assignment instructions by version is what keeps the two documents in step. Instructions get revised, and an officer who signed for version three is working to version three — so the induction record is the only thing that shows who is working to what.
Confirming escalation contacts during the induction is deliberate duplication. The numbers in the instructions go stale, and the induction is the one moment somebody is sitting with the document and could pick up a phone to check — which almost nobody does, and which costs an hour once and saves an incident later.
Lone working is on the sheet because this trade is full of it. A single officer on a void site through the night needs a check-in arrangement and somebody who will notice if it is missed, and 'ring if you need anything' is not that arrangement.
